Description of the main operating principles, application areas and characteristics of thermal conductivity instruments
Thermal conductivity meter: local heating is carried out with a linear electrical conductor embedded in the sample along the length of the sample. The hot wire carries a current of known constant power, that is, the power is constant in time and in the length of the sample. The thermal conductivity can be calculated from the power of the hot wire and the temperature at two time intervals after the current is turned on. The function of temperature rise and time is the thermal conductivity of the tested sample.
