Improve business efficiency

The predecessor of Safety Manager is the Fail Safe Controller, which has a mature application history of more than 20 years. It reflects Honeywell's more than 20 years of proven process safety management expertise in integrating process safety data, applications, system diagnostics, and control strategies for hazardous environments.

Safety Manager is designed to improve overall process safety and protect plant assets and people, thereby improving the company's business efficiency. Through the close integration with Experion PKS, all safety systems can be integrated into a unified safety system, which lays a good foundation for the safety, reliability and efficiency of the process.

Experion PKS connects processes and business operations at all levels, and this connection has reached an unprecedented height. In addition, it optimizes the work process, improves the efficiency of routine maintenance, promotes safety management, and saves manual operations.

Using QMR technology

The Safety Manager utilizes a unique Quadruple Modular Redundancy (QMR) diagnostic technology that has been proven in practice and uses the 2oo4D system. QMR increases system flexibility, diagnostic message processing, and system fault tolerance for critical applications. It allows users to deal with multiple system failures in the SafetyManager to meet the needs of control applications in hazardous environments.

In addition, Safety Manager allows users to integrate SIL-rated sensors and valve actuators into the system, ensuring that your system is safety-instrumented, providing excellent protection for complex and dangerous processes. Safety Manager is the ideal solution for implementing a Safety Instrumented System (SIS), whether it is integrating a transmitter to achieve Safety Integrity Level (SIL) or integrating a safety valve positioner to improve safety and field asset management functions.

Benefits

Safety Manager provides the following benefits to the user:

• Efficient Engineering and Design-Reduce the difficulty of designing secure networks.

• Internal Safety-Safety features Manager by Safety are embedded into the system design of Safety Manager. Unlike other systems, safety functions do not need to be programmed into the Safety Manager.

• Robustness-Further improve the robustness of Safety Manager by improving several features, including redundant analog output support, application "hot" backup, self-learning principles, improved output fault handling capabilities, and per-point fault handling configurations.

• Unique system reliability and robustness-enabled by rigorous Six Sigma (DFSS) process design and IEC 61508 development standards.

Unique process availability-QMR technology, which has been proven in practice, can also ensure uninterrupted operation of the system at SIL3 level when the system is degraded (different from TMR system with limited running time requirements after single channel/single card failure, I .e. within the specified time, if the failure cannot be repaired, the system must stop).

• Excellent operation and maintenance performance-Integrates critical process data and information with process control information, allowing users to operate and maintain from a single window.

• Investment protection-Safety Manager allows and supports porting to new QMR safety technologies. Any version of the application can be ported to the new version without affecting the process.

Compliance with safety standards-Safety Manager provides excellent full-cycle protection for multi-industry safety applications with SIL3-rated hardware and software and corresponding tools.

• Fast peer-to-peer communication with Experion C300 controllers enables a tight combination of safety and process control functions while meeting the requirements defined by IEC 61508/IEC 61511.

Robust communication features, such as SIL4-certified security network SafeNet, can provide a safe configuration for a variety of systems from offshore oil platforms to integrated LNG.

• TÜV-certified online modification function.

Compliance with safety standards

In order to meet IEC 61508/IEC 61511 requirements, an important aspect is the ability to have historical information related to the change application.

Honeywell's Safety Builder software (Safety Builder software) provides a Safety Audit Tracker tool that automatically initiates audit tracking. It can automatically track changes in the application. The system does not require complex operating procedures or a large number of records. It only requires a security audit tracker and integrated application verification functions to ensure security throughout the security cycle, including changing the operation of the application.

Safety Manager comply with the following international standards:

• 关于BMS:NFPA 85、86、VDE 0116

• 关于ESD:IEC 61508、IEC 61511、ISA S84.01、DIN V 19250、UL、FM、ATEX

About F & G: EN54-2, NFPA 72, Lloyd's Register, FM-Fire Protection Equipment Certification Safety Manager provides excellent full-cycle protection for multi-industry safety applications through SIL3 grade hardware and software and corresponding tools.

As part of Experion technology, Safety Manager provides a platform to ensure the unity of control and safety functions in hazardous environments, reducing risk and installation costs, while improving plant safety.

Engineering Environment

Safety Builder software improves engineering and design efficiency. Using the newly developed Network Configurator (Network Configurator), it is very convenient to design a secure network. With a simple drag-and-drop operation, a complete network can be designed in a few minutes. Safety Builder software can be used for detailed network configuration in the background, saving valuable engineering and testing time. In addition, the entire network can be designed on a single page, eliminating the need for additional files and programming.

The Functional Logic Diagram (Functional Logic Diagram, FLD) editor has proven to be highly functional and helps users design applications quickly and efficiently, showing all logic clearly and visually, and fully compliant with IEC 61131 standards. Logical inputs, outputs, and symbols can be placed by drag-and-drop in the toolbar and are easy to configure. A number of special functions provide a lot of convenience for project engineers (especially large project engineers). These functions include:

• Copy applications from another factory, including all physical and logical connections

• Bulk Copy Points

• Batch Rename Points

• Bulk Copy FLD

• Allow multiple users to use the same Safety Manager database

• Allow multiple users to connect to the same Safety Manager controller

• Provides multi-site support to allow for distributed logic development,

You can also improve the safety, availability, and efficiency of your processes with additional features, including:

• SafeNet point-to-point communication

• Increased processing power by 30-40% with updated processor modules

• Reduce the size of the application by 30% through the principle of intelligent point compression

• FTE-based peer-to-peer communication between Safety Manager and C300 controllers

In addition, the robustness of the Safety Manager has been further improved in the new version by adopting the following features:

• Redundant analog output support

• Point-by-point fault response settings

• Improved fault detection and I/O module maintenance capabilities

• Provide comprehensive application "hot" backup in QPP

• Remote management of all Safety Manager applications from one central location

Process Availability

Safety Manager uses mature QMR technology, and there are no runtime constraints in single controller and single IO configurations. This increases the availability of the process and ensures uninterrupted process operation even when the system is degraded. The online system modification procedure has been redesigned and simplified. Applications and embedded systems can be easily upgraded with a simple 4-step modification wizard, either at plant startup or throughout the process. Safety Manager integrates critical process data and information with process control information, allowing users to operate and maintain from a single window. When the TÜV SIL4-certified SafeNet communication protocol is connected to Experion Fault Tolerant Ethernet (FTE), multiple SafetyManager can also be integrated into a safety system. Ethernet technology is widely used in the communication process, which can exchange data with Experion quickly, safely and reliably, thus improving the operation and maintenance performance.

In addition, through rich system self-test and diagnostic functions, Safety Manager can also extend the system verification test cycle and reduce operation and maintenance costs.

system reliability and robustness

More than 60% of the mature safety system software using QMR technology resides in the Safety Manager Controller(Safety Manager controller). Rigorous Six Sigma(DFSS) process design and IEC 61508 development standards ensure the robustness of the software design, while at the same time absolutely not affecting the safety performance of the Safety Manager.

In addition, by strengthening and simplifying the design of the hardware structure of the Safety Manager controller, the complexity of the controller is reduced, the use is more convenient, and the reliability and safety of the system are also increased. Both the controller and the safety input/output are packaged in a metal case, which improves the durability of the hardware and improves electromagnetic compatibility.

In addition, with integrated 24Vdc and 5Vdc power supplies and plug-and-play cabling, I/O modules or I/O card cages can be added, saving valuable field operation time while reducing risk and installation costs. In this system, the system availability exceeds 99.99 percent and can achieve a strict safety integrity level SIL3 to meet the needs of hazardous processes.
